WRITE YOUR SENATORS TODAY!

Last week Congress passed an extension of the FAA taxes and contract authority so that capital programs and programs such as the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) can go forward at airports across the nation this year. While it would have been better to have a four-year bill passed already, we are hopeful this will provide short term stability for all stakeholders in our national aviation system. This latest extension expires June 30, 2008. Between now and June 30 we need to work hard to let Congress know that in order to make the long term improvements to our Air Traffic Control System it is essential we get a four year FAA bill done and not another extension. We are in support of S.2345.

WRITE YOUR SENATORS TODAY regarding the importance of getting an FAA bill done this year and the need to follow the common sense fuel tax based approach that is supported by USPA, the Alliance for Aviation Across America, the GA community, the House of Representatives, the Senate Finance Committee, and a strong majority of U.S. Senators.

In mid-March USPA President Steve Uslan will be meeting with the Texas Congressional Delegation in Washington, D.C., along with other members of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. Please do your part and contact your Senator, sending a copy of your email or letter to Steve at airone@troychestnut.com.
